Installation at the Manhattan entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge, NY
This project was the first in the program "In The Public Realm" funded by the Public Art Fund. The installation was made by gilding the stairway to the pedestrian and bike path of the bridge with 22 karat gold leaf. As the project aged the gold was gradually worn away, making its way into the community. The project was de-installed in 1998 when the bridge was renovated.
